Prof. Dr. Rainer Lauterbach

brings more than 20 years of professional experience in international investment management, corporate development and transaction business.

He spent eight years as managing director of the Harald Quandt family office, where he built up an investment portfolio of growth companies and was also responsible for all private equity and venture capital fund investments worldwide. During this time, he managed an investment portfolio of several hundred million euros in assets under management and built up an extensive network of investors and entrepreneurs. As an investment manager and interim manager for investors and entrepreneurs, he currently focuses on the financing of corporate investments and real estate as well as portfolio management and investment management.

After studying business informatics, he completed an MBA at the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia, USA and earned his doctorate in finance at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main on the subject of corporate finance.

He is an honorary professor of corporate finance at the International School of Management (ISM) and regularly lectures at leading institutes such as the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the European Business School (EBS).
